Dr Lefteris (Eleftherios) Angelis received his BSc and Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Sciences, AUTh. His subject area is Statistics and Information Systems. The main part of his publications in journals and conference proceedings is focused on the development and application of statistical methods and models for analyzing data from the fields of Information Systems and Software Engineering (cost estimation, procedures of developing open source code, prioritization of quality requirements, study of the human factor in the development of software). He also works on applications of statistical methods to knowledge discovery from Web data, distributed data bases and biomedical documents. His research interests involve statistical modeling and analysis of simulation results, optimization algorithms and construction of optimal experimental designs. He has participated in various research projects and studies as statistical analyst of surveys and controlled experiments.
